Grays Athletic 0, Waltham Forest 0
GRAYS squandered another opportunity to lay down a marker in the Ryman One North promotion race, squandering a hatful chances against faltering Forest in a match that started late because of traffic problems.
The visitors made an unexpectedly good start to the season, topping the table at one point, but have since been on a steady decline down the division.
So Grays will have expected to take all three points, and indeed dominated the first half.
However, they could not force the ball home and in the second half, buoyed by renewed self belief Forest took the game to their hosts and misssed several good chances of their own.
Grays became increasingly fractious and Danny Bunce was lucky to escape with a yellow card after an altercation with Luke Stanley, who was also cautioned. Both might well have seen red on another day.
The Blues had a final flurry of chances in addded time but couldn't find the back of the net.
