POLICE are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was killed in a road crash in Chafford Hundred.
The collision happened when the rider of a black Suzuki GSF appears to have lost control of the machine while travelling along Devonshire Road shortly before 7am on Wednesday, 11 July and struck a road sign.
The 41-year-old motorcyclist, John Eggleton, (pictured) of Hawkins Drive, Chafford Hundred, was conveyed by paramedics to Basildon University Hospital but sadly died a short time later.
His family have released the following tribute: “John was a dearly loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone that knew him. John was a welder by trade, and his life revolved around his family and his work. All the family members and friends will greatly miss John very much.”
The family have not made any arrangements, at this stage, regarding John’s funeral.
A section of the road was closed for approximately six hours while forensic collision investigators carried out their enquiries.
