It’s time to escape the nine to five blues and get in the mood for some country fun as Dolly the Show arrives at the Palace Theatre in Southend this weekend!

Celebrate the music of the gorgeous award-winning singer, composer, musician, actress and author by coming on a journey through Dolly Parton’s early days to her arena concerts of today.

Starring the acclaimed country singer Jeanne Jordan, who was introduced to the world of country music and  was even lucky enough to be present at recording sessions with Dolly herself!

Known for being a part of the award winning show ‘Solid Gold Country Legends’, Jeanne can’t wait to get on stage in Southend with her own tribute to Dolly Parton.

“She’s an absolutely larger than life character and there are so many little things about her that make her who she is,” says 55-year-old Jeanne. “I admire everything about her - the look, the big hair, the fabulous clothes. She’s such a star!”

Joining Jeanne in the spotlight will be Emily Clark, who will portray Dolly through her younger years.

“Because we’ve now got two of us performing as Dolly, there’s nearly always a Dolly on stage,” laughs Jeanne. “I’m so glad that we have Emily. To be honest, I didn’t know whether we’d have any chemistry – after all, I’m old enough to be her mum! But we have a great rapport on stage and it’s a lot of fun.”

With hits from Nine to Five, I Will Always Love You and Islands in the Stream, right through to Jolene, Here You Come Again and Coat of Many Colours, all injected with fun and more sparkles than Dolly’s Rhinestones, this is a show not to be missed!

“The night is not purely just for country fans, it’s for everybody and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” adds Jeanne.
