Dog abandoned in wood

abandoned dogTHE RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was found abandoned tied to a tree in a wood in Braintree.

The white male Staffordshire bull terrier, aged about three years old, was found in Lynders Wood Lane, Black Notley, Braintree, by a walker who discovered the dog hidden away tied to a tree.

The RSPCA was called and Inspector Sam Garvey arrived and took the dog to the RSPCA Wethersfield animal centre where he is being cared for.

Inspector Garvey said: "This poor dog was in a good condition and yet he was left out in the woods tied up, presumably in the hope that someone would find him. Someone will know who this dog belonged to and we would like to hear from them so we can investigate this."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RSPCA in confidence on 03001234999.
