DETECTIVES investigating a serious sexual assault in Chelmsford are appealing for witnesses to contact them urgently.
A woman in her 20s, from the Romford area reported to Metropolitan Police that she had been attacked in the early hours of Saturday, 31 July near the riverside in Chelmsford.
In a description released this morning (Monday) the woman described the man as white, with short dark hair, medium build, aged between 20-25 years, possibly wearing a black tee shirt.
She had been out with friends for the evening and left Que Pasa in the town centre around 2.20am to get something to eat. She walked a short distance and found herself lost. She was near to Lockside Marina when she was then assaulted by a man who dragged her into bushes, close to the riverbank. She received cuts and bruises and was very shaken up.
She got a taxi to take her back home to the Romford area. Police say they need to find this driver, who is described as a mixed heritage man, wearing glasses.
