DETECTIVES in Southend are appealing for information from the public after a young teenage girl has told her family she was assaulted after she left a train in Shoebury in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, August 1).
The girl was on a train when a man started talking to her, as she left the station at Shoebury at around 12 15am she says he followed her and tried to assaulted her.
He is described as white with a stubbly beard, aged in his mid 20s, under 6ft tall, wearing a blue jacket and white T shirt and jeans.
Detectives are still trying to piece together the sequence of events and support the victim to provide a full statement.
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area around the station in the early hours of this morning and may have seen or heard anything. They are asked to contact detectives at Southend CID on 0300 333 4444.
