A COLLISION between a pedal bike and car has caused traffic chaos on the A127.
The crash happened just before 6am on the slip road to the A1245/A130 off the A127 between a pedal cycle and a blue Fiat Cinquecento driven by a 52-year-old man.
A 49-year-old man from Southend who was riding the bike has been taken to Basildon Hospital with serious injuries.
Rush-hour traffic queued back past Rayleigh Weir as police cordoned off the whole slip lane.
Police are hoping to reopen the road in the next few hours.
