Clean up time at park

RESIDENTS of Stifford Clays are planning to clean up one of their local parks next week.

Between 9.30am and noon on Friday, 23 July, the Stifford Community Forum will be out and about at the Blackthorn Road playing field.

The forum has liaised with Thurrock Council which will be making sure litter-pickers and bags and gloves are available and is arranging for a crew to come and collect the bagged-up litter.

Local councillors Diana Hale and Angie Gaywood will be joining forum members on the field for the clear-up and local people are being invited to go along and join in.

Forum chair, Len Orpin said: “It would be great for residents especially young people to join in with this project.

“The Blackthorn Road play area has had its problems recently with the shrubs being broken and bonfires being lit and it is in need of a tidy up.

“If we finish early we will move over to Crammavill Street and give that a tidy up as well. Cold drinks will be supplied by the forum for those who join in.”
