TITLE-CHASING Canvey Island were beaten by the clock on Saturday in a 22-all draw at home to Lowestoft and Yarmouth.
The hosts took the lead when winger Scott Floyd was fed the ball on his 22 and went through two tackles before setting up full back Ben Chandler to go over in the corner.
Chandler kicked a penalty before the visitors scored with a penalty of their own.
Floyd then touched down for a try that was converted by Chandler before Lowestoft hit back with two tries, one that was converted.
Tommi Gillingwater went over and Chandler converted by Canvey couldn’t force the winner and sit three points behind leaders Beccles, who they face on Saturday, with a match in hand.
