
n Saved: Fire-fighters get the bull out of the pond
A 20 YEAR-OLD bull was rescued from a pond in Brentwood yesterday (Tuesday).
At 4.26pm two local Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) crews, two from Grays and a USAR water rescue advisor went to the scene in Magpie Lane, Little Warley.
At 5.13pm incident commander, Station Officer Dave Tayler, reported that the bull was still stuck.
At 5.33pm, Station Officer Tayler confirmed that the bull had been brought out of the water and efforts were being made to help the animal stand up.
Its owner was at the scene and waiting for a vet to attend.
At 8.30pm crews attempted to prop up the bull using hay bales but the animal was sick.
A vet is supervised its removal to an overnight shelter nearby.
