Bread and Buffers petition doubles after Enquirer campaign

BreadnBuffersA petition to save an 18-year-old station shop in Billericay has received over 2,000 signatures thanks to concerned commuters.

‘Bread and Buffers’ had been threatened with closure by National Express East Anglia as the company look to redevelop Billericay station.

Local MP John Baron last month presented the Secretary of State with a petition of over 1,000 signatures calling for the popular shop to stay with another thousand signing in agreement since.

The plight of Hugh and Nadia McMahon who have owned and run the shop for 18 years featured on the front page of the Enquirer just last month as the couple reached the 1,000 signature mark.

You must be giving the customers what they want if you have lasted 18 years. All power to John Baron and lets hope that the Secretary of State does the right thing. Express East Anglia who are behind the revamp cannot apparently afford to put in a lift for the disabled but can afford to enlarge the station!!!!! Lets trust that common sense prevails and someone wome where remembers that "If it ain't broke, don't mend it"
