Essex Pirates 83, Everton Tigers 95
A TREMENDOUS fightback by Pirates ended in disappointment on Saturday evening when they slipped to another British Basketball League defeat.
Pirates were 22-20 down after the first quarter and 42-28 behind at half-time but then the home side began to battle back.
The gap was narrowed to 66-65 in favour of Tigers at the end of the third quarter and an exciting final 10 minute period followed.
Pirates even led 73-69 with seven minutes remaining but Tigers finished the stringer and in the end eased away for victory.
Taner Adu top scored for Pirates with 21 points while Randy George added 17.
Pirates will now hope to bounce back at Plymouth Raiders on Sunday afternoon.
