CROWDS gathered at Waterstones stores in Basildon, Romford and Chelmsford this week as comedian Russell Kane and Only Fools and Horses actor John Challis signed copies of their new books.
Fans queued up for two hours to meet comedian Russell Kane (right), who signed copies of his debut novel The Humorist, a story about a comedy critic who lacks any human empathy.
Two lucky fans that got the chance to have their pictures taken with the Southend based comedy star were 17-year-old friends Amy Byford and Holly Braine from Chelmsford (below).

“I’ve been a big fan of Russell for ages,” says Holly. “He’s so cooky and different, yet when you meet him he’s really down to earth.”
Meanwhile, John Challis (pictured right), who played ‘Boycie’ in Only Fools also spent the last two weekends signing copies of his autobiography Being Boycie at Waterstones in Essex, including stores in Thurrock, Basildon and Romford.
