Billericay keep perfect home record

Billericay Town 1, Wealdstone 0

Big defender Chris Wild netted for Billericay four minutes after half-time and that was all they needed for a home Ryman Premier win over Wealdstone, their third win out of three at New Lodge so far this season.

Town made a bright start to the game with Wealdstone ‘keeper Jonathan North doing well to hold a well struck shot from Hall, whilst Leon McKenzie thought he had scored when he headed in Luke’s cross but was denied by the linesman’s flag.

As the half wore on some sloppy Billericay play invited Wealdstone into the game as more of an attacking force, but they were unable to seriously trouble debutant keeper Nicky Morgan who dealt with everything the Londoners could throw at him.

The only goal of the game came five minutes into the second half.

Town were awarded a free kick on the right wing for a foul on Junior Luke. Matt Hall delivered a telling cross that found Chris Wild unmarked and he needed no second invitation to power home his header.
