A Billericay man has been killed in Spain in a drive-by shooting.
Dan Smith, 26, formerly of Coxes Farm Road, Billericay, was shot late on Saturday night at a bar in Mijas, on the Costa Del Sol.
Smith had fled to Spain after police issued a warrant for his arrest for the shooting of Essex millionaire Doug Turner, 52, at his home in Stock back in July 2007.
Turner survived but lost three fingers in the shotgun attack that was reportedly a revenge attack after a pub brawl.
According to reports Smith was drinking in a British-run bar on Saturday night when two men on a motorbike fired several shots into the bar.
The Foreign Office confirmed Mr Smith died on Sunday in Malaga.
