Basildon Arts Collective could be wound up by the end of next week after in-fighting saw two leading members resign.
Elected chair Liz Grant and founder Steve Waters both quit last month after a bitter war of words that saw Mrs Grant label the group as a “poisoned well and not fit to drink from”.
After a meeting last week the group are now desperately searching for a new chairperson, secretary and treasurer to continue the group beyond next Friday (20 August).
In a message to members Mrs Grant said: “Personally, I feel sad for those members who hoped this marked a change and a positive way forward. However, I believe some good has come out of it and I would like to wish you all well.”
