AN armed thief has struck again at a shop on Canvey Island, with police hoping that the release of further CCTV images can help identify him.
The recent attack at Nearbuys on Dovervelt Road happened shortly after 10pm on Sunday, April 6 when a man threatened staff with a knife, demanding that money be handed over.
However, the female cashier refused leaving the man frustrated. He ran off, empty-handed.
Investigating Officer, Dc Neil Hudson, said: "We can’t stress enough the importance of having this man arrested and taken off the streets before he strikes again. He is a nuisance and causing distress to many people. We would urge people to look closely at these CCTV images and give us his name.”
The assailant is described as white, in his 20s, has blue eyes and short, dark hair and is approximately six foot tall.
Anyone with information in connection with this attempted robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
