DETECTIVES in South Ockendon are urgently appealing for witnesses to an assault on August 18 that has left a 47 year old local man with serious life threatening injuries. A man has been arrested and bailed.
The 47 year old victim was found in an alleyway behind Rosemary Close, South Ockendon at about 8.30pm on Wednesday,August 18. He is currently in Basildon hospital with serious head and face injuries, in an induced coma in the intensive care unit. A 20-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released on bail until November 24 while enquiries continue.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the area and has any information about the assault on the man. They are asked to contact detectives at Grays CID on 0300 333 4444.
