POLICE in Southend are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a shop in West Street, on Friday evening.
Around 10.30pm a man walked into Premier Stores and threatened the two shop workers with a kitchen knife, demanding money. The two men handed over cash from the till (a three figure sum) and the robber left the store and headed towards Victoria Avenue. He is described as early 20s, skinny build, around 6ft tall with possibly shaven blonde hair, however he was wearing a cloth mask. He was dressed in track suit bottoms and a grey hoodie.
DS Phil Smith said: "I want to hear from anyone with any idea who this man is, do you know someone who has suddenly turned up with a large amount of cash who fits the description? The shop workers have been left shaken up by their ordeal and I would urge anyone with information to contact detectives at Southend on 0300 333 4444."
