Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike accident left two people in a serious, but stable condition in Basildon Hospital.
Two men were riding a blue Suzuki GSF bike near Grays on the A1089 Dock Approach Road leading to the eastbound A13 when the bike struck the crash barrier shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday.
The rider, a 42-year-old man from Basildon, suffered serious leg injuries while his pillion passenger, a 35-year-old man also from Basildon, sustained serious pelvic and internal injuries.
A section of the road was closed for six hours while forensic collision investigators gathered evidence which will help establish the cause of the crash.
