A crafty weekend

Living Craft

HATFIELD House in Hertfordshire will be hosting the Festival of Living Crafts: Art, Design & Innovation from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 May.  This vibrant show features the very best of British crafts, especially selected from across the UK.

Living Crafts is Europe’s premier craft event with an enviable reputation for the range and quality of both contemporary and traditional crafts.  Come and celebrate the talent and unique skills of our finest designer–makers, meet the craftsmen, buy, place commissions or personalise special pieces, from heritage rural crafts to innovative, contemporary designs.

Be inspired and ‘have a go’ in the Craft Workshop Marquee with papermaking, collagraphy, ceramic painting and pyrography, or try your hand at origami or create a stamped piece of artwork.

Stunning new exhibitors this May include garden sculptor Claire Tupman with beautiful structures of shimmering steel, Pattacakes Cookery School for children and a traditional wheelwright demonstrating hooping.

Or, try before you buy and be tempted by a fantastic range of artisan produced food and drink including vintage Cheddars, exquisite chocolates, marinades and traditional sweet and savoury pies. So much to whet the appetite!

Tickets include admission to the award-winning West Garden, and with a lively ambience, outdoor demonstrations, jazz and brass bands and traditional dancing and storytelling, this is a wonderful day out for the family.

The fun starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm daily. Visit www.livingcrafts.co.uk or call 0845 2305176 for details or to book.
